Large Mahogany Silver Server
or Hunt Board

Built on a scale to serve lots of people and functions, this
fantastic piece has three carved front drawers across the top with the
velvet inserts in two of them to coddle your precious sterling pieces.
The base shelf is completely open for storage or display. It can handle
pieces up to 24" Tall and 20" Deep. The 18" Tall back-splash
has it's own fruit basket centerpiece. The solid mahogany top surface is
perfect except for a 1/4" sag in the middle from age and lack of support.
Well defined carvings throughout give interest to the curled pawfoot holding
up the shelf. Excellent workmanship shows in all the details.
With these classic motifs, this piece blends with a large cast of formal
furniture styles from the 1800's into the Colonial Revivals of the 1900's.
It is showing machine dovetails, which led us to date this piece to the
early 1900's to the 20's.
