Oak Stick & Ball Curio
(inventory # DD-221)

In the 1890s these oak "stick & ball" pieces were very popular and generally had a patent date on the brass joints.  This one has no patent date and the only brass is two springs at the base of each door to hold it closed.  This little curio can either be used as a table top model or attached to the wall thru the holes provided.  It still has it's original back and the 3 shelves (top, bottom and middle) each have a plate groove cut in them.  There are some old stains evident and some paint still left in the crevasses, but the curved glass is intact on this piece and it's ready to go . Bottom shelf is 10" Tall, middle shelf is 9" Tall and both are 5" Deep inside the curio. Unique construction- everything is either doweled in or screwed together.  No hinges.  The glass rests inside the "sticks" and can be changed or accessed only by unscrewing the pieces.
