Double Door Wardrobe
(inventory # GG-1)

The beauty of American Wardrobes is that they break down for transporting - either across country or up the stairs.  The largest piece you have to deal with is the base unit with the two drawers.  All other pieces besides this and the top are flat and pack well.  The other side of this is that it takes about 5 minutes for us to totally assemble this in place and it merely takes a screwdriver.  Once assembled, it's very sturdy.  This particular wardrobe has a unique arched crested top with a rolling pin detail and half round columns amidst the appliqué carvings.  The doors fasten well with the original locks and key.  There is an original interior shelf.  Two drawers below offer more storage space.  We have replaced the mirrors with  new beveled glass mirrors, more appropriate for this vintage.  Lots of quartersawn oak on the face, straight grain oak on the sides.  Likely poplar for the two back panels and secondary wood.
