This understated set features a double gold border on the outside edge and a single gold border on the inside of the plate.  The off white background is accented by a slightly richer broad border between the gold bands.  While this set has enough pieces to complete a service for 8, there are extras on top of this.  Service pieces include an oval platter, and oval vegetable, creamer and sugar.  The main place setting includes the dinner plate, the salad or luncheon plate, the bread plate a fruit bowl and cup and saucer.  Theodore Haviland manufactured this set in New York from 1941 to 1950.   Excellent Condition.
