Notes from some of our Customers:

"Needless to say, I was pretty nervous about buying this table sight unseen.  Not only was it a long way
from here, but was also a considerable investment.  The table arrived last evening in excellent shape
and it is beautiful!    Your shipper- Gary of Vashon Island Transport-
was great and very conscientious.  Thanks again."  San Diego, CA

"I want to take this opportunity to express how thankful I am for your help. We love the Table!  It was everything your photos depicted.  It's beautiful and makes our entire house sparkle.  It's really funny to see the expressions on the faces of our friends when they learn this gorgeous table was learned about and bought through the internet.  Your driver, Gary Lewis, was entirely a gentleman and he couldn't say enough good things about you and your husband's business.  He acts as a traveling representative for your business (along the West Coast)."  Debbie,   Fallbrook, CA

"After 5 years of daily use our dining room table looks as good now as the day we bought it,
due to the durability of the finish Up the Creek uses on their furniture." Beaverton, OR

"The table and chairs arrived safely and are just beautiful, even lovelier than we imagined.  The delivery guy was very competent and did keep in touch along the way.  So a great big thank you to you.  You are a qulity outfit."  Connie,  Viroque, Wisconsin

Points to Ponder While Shopping For Tables:
1.  Select the Size you need by estimating an additional 3 feet around the outside of the table to allow room for chairs and guests to move freely.
2.  Decide how you intend to use the table the most frequently.  If you intend to keep it set up as a large table or fully extended with all its leaves in place,  consider looking for a "split pedestal" table for the best support and in the long run, the least wear and warp on the stretchers.
3.  Solid Top Tables are the most desired but don't rule out a Veneer top if it is in perfect condition.  Often you can get exceptional grain patterns with veneer tops and a good finish that seals the wood will protect it from most problems.  Veneer tables were not necessarily the cheapest option when originally manufactured .

FYI: A basic table with no major problems takes three days to go through the Restoration Shop
and this is why.....

1.  Spread the table top apart to find out how many leaves the slides will accommodate.
2.  Rough out  the new leaves from new stock.  Should match any original leaves in size.
3.  Disassemble Table- entirely. (pull off slides, skirts, legs or base)
4.  Re-glue joints where necessary.
5.  Surface Sand top and leaves to same thickness,
remove scratches and blemishes where possible.
6.  After sanding top and leaves, reassemble, re-level, and re-pin.
Carve any repairs needed to feet/carvings/molded skirts.
7.  Check to make sure table hardware is functioning properly or replace or repair.
8.  Inspect the base and it's attachment to the top.  Add new wheels, if necessary.
9.  Check out the table slides to make sure they are sliding easily,
keys are working, stops are in place.
10.  Attach base to top.  Sand the base and skirt.
11.  Cut new table leaves to correct length while installed in table.  Route entire edge.
12.  Make skirts for leaves to match existing table skirt.
13.  Finish sanding,  Stain, Apply Finish, Sand , Apply finish coat.
14.  Quality Control Inspection
